KUCHING: Sixteen students groups from Mas Gading Community College showcased a host of projects at its Information Technology Certificate Project Competition and Exhibition here recently.
The students who are pursuing the Information Technology Certificate Course displayed projects on simple applications, Internet of Things (IoT), big data management, websites, video multimedia and system development.
The projects were evaluated by an expert jury from the industry, including Mohd Hasnol Hot and Ahmad Raimie Ramle, who praised the students for demonstrating skills that exceeded certificate-level expectations, particularly in integrating Industrial Revolution 4.0 (4IR) technologies like IoT and data analysis.
College director Khalid Husseine highlighted the competition’s dual purpose of fostering creativity and preparing students for the challenges of a technology-driven workforce.
“We emphasise the importance of understanding and mastering 4IR technologies, as they are pivotal to various aspects of work and life,” he said.
The event also aimed to enhance students’ communication skills and confidence by presenting their projects to industry professionals.
“We are thrilled to see such creativity and innovation in projects that are not only relevant but also hold commercial potential,” said jury member Mohd Hasnol.
Awards were presented for the three Best Projects, Best Poster, and Best Booth.
