SIBU: Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee has proposed that one day in a month be set aside as a ‘Nation Moment’ where citizens sing the national anthem Negaraku simultaneously nationwide.
He said Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah has agreed that the proposal be held monthly as it would help to create patriotic Malaysians.
Dr Annuar was speaking to reporters on Wednesday (Sept 16) after Saifuddin flagged off the Info on Wheels bicycle convoy programme at Bandong Walk and Sibu Jaya Market.
The assistant minister also participated in the convoy.
Saifuddin also gave away mini Malaysian flags to the people who gather at the Sibu Jaya Market.
He was accompanied by his ministry’s secretary general Datuk Suriani Datuk Ahmad, deputy secretary general Shakib Ahmad Shakir, Department of Information Malaysia (Japen) deputy director general Datuk Sukari Ab Hamid, his deputy (Digital Content) Hashim Bedu and state Japen director Swady Guliling.
