SRI AMAN: The Iban language Ruai pullout in the new Suara Sarawak daily is a good reference material for the younger generation of the Iban community.
An Iban Language teacher of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sri Aman Siward Duju, 54, found the writing pattern in the pullout as commendable.
He said the articles complied with the latest spelling system as taught in schools.
“I feel that the Ruai pullout is among the best.
“Sometimes there are people who just stress on the pronunciation without putting emphasis on the spelling. It is pleasing to know that writers in the Ruai pullout are in compliance with the standard Iban spelling system that is being used in the Iban Language or Jaku Iban syllabus taught in schools.
“Hence, it is suitable for the younger generation who want to improve their mastery in Iban language,” he said when met by Suara Sarawak.
He described the overall content of Suara Sarawak paper as exciting and good.
“Physically it is compact and the content inside is good and worth reading,” he said.
