KUCHING: Sarawakian athletes have been urged to demonstrate unwavering commitment and discipline as they prepare to defend their title at the ninth edition of Sukan SUK-Se Malaysia (SUKSEM) in Terengganu.
Chef de mission (CDM) and Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Administration) Datuk Buckland Bangik said the athletes are representing not only the Sarawak public service but also the entire state.
“I want to remind the athletes to maintain discipline, as highlighted earlier by the State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
“While our goal, like that of the other teams, is to win the championship, we must also remember that we are representing Sarawak’s reputation,” he said.
Buckland made these remarks during the Sarawak contingent’s dinner event for SUKSEM IX 2024 on Sunday (Oct 14).
He stressed the importance of dedication in the competition, which is key to achieving success.
The Sarawak contingent carries a great responsibility as they head to Terengganu to defend their title.
Also present at the event were Sarawak deputy CDM and director of the Administration Unit Datuk Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin, and Terengganu Deputy State Secretary (Development) Datuk Tun Ahmad Faisal Tun Razak.
