SARIKEI: Local residents in Repok constituency are now enjoying the fruits of four completed Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023 projects.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the projects upgraded facilities at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Su Kwong, SJK Sze Lu, Rumah (Rh) Jupong and Rh Demong.
“SJK Su Kwong’s entrance now boasts new fencing, while SJK Sze Lu has a freshly painted court roof, classrooms and an upgraded storeroom,” he said.
“We’ve also constructed drains behind Rh Jupong and a new fence for Rh Demong,” he added.
Joviana Joklin, representing the implementing agency Sarikei District Council, handed over the project sites to school and longhouse representatives.
Huang, who is also Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, hoped the projects would benefit local students and villagers.
Also present were Kapitan Ling Dien Yong, representing Huang, and Kapitan Tang Kee Wun.
