LUNDU: Villagers gathered at the banks of Sungai Kayan on Tuesday night (Aug 20) to recite the Rosary prayer, following a tragic boat that capsized earlier that morning.

The prayer was intended to support the ongoing search for three SMK Senibong students feared drowned in the 6.10 am incident.

According to a report by Lundu Menarik on Facebook, the prayer was also to seek divine intervention for the swift recovery of the missing students.

As of noon today (Aug 21), one of the students, a 15-year-old Vilkie Wilson, was found and retrieved from the river.

His body was spotted by villagers around 11.58 am, approximately 10 metres from the search and rescue (SAR) control post.

Rescuers recovered the body and handed it over to the police for further action.

The search for the remaining two students, identified as 14-year-old Alsma Jithil and 17-year-old Helena Fasha Petrus, is still ongoing as of reporting time.
