SIBU: Two companies yesterday jointly contributed epidemic prevention materials worth RM200,000 to selected primary and secondary schools in the state.

They are Sonic Hardware (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (Sonic) and Guangdong Theaoson Technology Co, Ltd (Guangdong) which donated 31,200 bottles of sanitiser sprays to 40 schools, benefiting about 57,000 students.

Director of Sonic, Branda Wong, and East Malaysia regional general manager of Bank of China, financial partner of Guangdong, Zhang Hong Kun, jointly handed over the donation to Sibu Resident Charles Siaw at his office for distribution.

Out of the 40 schools, including Kuching, Miri and Bintulu, 10 of them here received 780 bottles of sanitiser sprays.

“It is crucial for all the members of educational establishment, including teachers and students, to have a clean, safe working and learning environment.

“Let us all keep in mind to practise good hygiene and social distancing in order to break the chain of the Covid-19 transmission,” said Siaw.
