KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today received a courtesy call from members of the Mutiara Mortgage & Credit Sdn Bhd (MMC) board of directors (BOD), led by its chairman Datuk Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.
The visit was to brief the chief minister on the latest development and progress involving the company, which is wholly-owned by Sarawak Housing Development Corporation (SHDC).
During the visit, the company’s BOD also informed Abang Johari of several improvements made particularly for the B40 category in Sarawak to enable them to own houses.
The visit was also in appreciation of the decision by the chief minister and state government to give the mandate to MMC to provide loans to those in the B40 category to buy houses as announced in the recent state budget.
Also present were Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian; Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee; SHDC chief executive officer Mohamad Asman Ahmad and general manager Shaharony Mat Nor; and board members of Mutiara Mortgage & Credit Sdn Bhd.
