KUCHING: Green Breeder Sdn Bhd is enthusiastic about its ongoing efforts to contribute to the growth and sustainability of Sarawak’s agriculture sector.
As a leading player in the Meat and Meat Product Merchant Wholesalers industry, the company is excited to announce a significant milestone in its mission to support local agriculture.
“The company is chartering a special flight to transport live swine from Denmark to Kuching, marking a substantial investment in the industry,” according to a statement today (Dec 8).
The successful chartering of this flight comes after overcoming a series of challenges, including obtaining the ‘Foreign Air Operators Certificate’ (FAOC) for Air Atlanta Icelandic to operate into Kuching International Airport.
Green Breeder extends its heartfelt gratitude to Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin and the Ministry of Transport (MOTS) for their invaluable assistance in obtaining the FAOC Variation in a timely manner for all aircraft in the fleet of Magma Aviation Limited, the lessee of Air Atlanta Icelandic VP.
On Nov 28, Dr Ng Shiew Thiam, director of Green Breeder Sdn Bhd, met with Lee in his ministry office to seek MOTS assistance in obtaining the necessary approval and permit for the direct chartered flight to transport live swine from Denmark to Kuching.
The dedicated aircraft will journey from Liege, Belgium, with a transit stop in Bahrain before its scheduled arrival in Kuching on Dec 9, at 0200 hours local time.
“This historic consignment will see the import of approximately 759 live breeding pigs, totalling over 38 tonnes in weight.”
Green Breeder Sdn Bhd’s commitment to the agriculture sector is unwavering, and this importation of live swine from Denmark signifies a pivotal moment for the local farming community.
It is poised to boost local breeding operations, enhance genetic diversity, and strengthen the agricultural landscape in Sarawak.
The company remains committed to supporting local agriculture and ensuring food security through its operations.
