MIRI: The Chinese community here is urged to comply with the health guidelines issued by the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) in response to the Covid-19 global outbreak to prevent further spread of the virus.
Federation of Miri Division Chinese Associations president Datuk David Goh said everyone has a role to play to stay healthy.
“We are giving our full support on the health guidelines issued by the state government in preventing the spread of this virus,” said Goh when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune.
He added that all Chinese associations in Miri including those in Marudi have been urged to cancel and not attend any gatherings following the outbreak.
“We discouraged our members to attend any events which involved more than 250 people,” he said.
In the context of the Covid-19 prevention, Goh said the community should make their personal hygiene and cleanliness a top priority.
