DALAT: Longhouse folk in Dalat District here are advised to continue to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the recovery movement control order (RMCO) which was announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday (Jan 11), said Dalat district police chief DSP Saga Chunggat.
This is based on a statement issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) informing that the district has recorded 17 positive Covid-19 cases resulted from the Pasai Cluster in Sibu.
“Residents are to stay in their homes or rooms and should not leave the longhouse areas unless there is an emergency. They should also abide by these instructions until there are new orders from the Ministry of Health (MoH) or District Office.
“We, the police, will continue to monitor from time to time for security purposes as recommended by the MoH,” he said when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune’s sister paper Suara Sarawak today (Jan 12).
Meanwhile, Penghulu Sebastian Sintan from Rumah Panjang Simu informed that the MoH had conducted swab tests on the residents on Jan 8 and found 17 individuals positive for Covid-19 including himself and his family.
He also said those who are tested Covd-19 positive are currently under quarantine in Sibu and Bintulu as per instructed by the State Health Department.
“We are thankful for the State Social Department for providing us food.
“I hope that we will recover quickly from this pandemic,” he said.
