SIBU: People must comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) to prevent the second wave of Covid-19.
Speaking to New Sarawak Tribune on Saturday (June 20), Gelau Lau, 30, a civil servant said people should comply with the SOP, which means members of public, operators, traders and business owners should comply with the SOP which serve as a guideline for them,” he said.
Among the SOPs, he said included ensuring that social distancing was practised at all times; restricting access to premises and access of customers to the premises at any time depending on the size of the premises to avoid congestion.
Apart from that, he also advised operators of business premises to undergo a body temperature check on their customers before allowing them to enter the premises; provide hand sanitiser; require the use of face mask by employees and to carry out disinfection of premises.
“People should take the initiative to bring their own pens with them in the event they need to register their contact details when entering a premises,” he said, while hope that the second wave would not happen.
Meanwhile, Anis Dana, 35, a teacher said that everyone need to play their part to prevent the second wave of covid-19.
“We hope that the second wave will not happen. And people must comply with SOP to break the chain of Covid-19 infection,” she said hoping the people would continue to give their cooperation.
