SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, who also serves as the Sarikei MP and Repok Assemblyman, has expressed concern regarding the damaged equipment at the Sarikei Swimming Pool.
Among the four available water pumps, only one is currently operational. He has urged the relevant authorities to swiftly address the issue to restore full functionality to the Sarikei Swimming Pool.
In a statement released today (Sep 13), it was mentioned that this morning, Kapitan Ling Dien Yong, representing Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii along with his Constituency Service Team, visited the Sarikei Swimming Pool to comprehend and address the challenges faced by the management.
During the visit, the Constituency Service Team, alongside the pool management, inspected the machine room. The pool management detailed the current situation and conducted water quality tests.
The statement highlighted that the pool’s equipment and machinery are antiquated and worn out. Initially, four water pumps were used alternately, but currently, only one remains operational, with the other three being non-functional for an extended period.
The lone operational water pump is operating under significant stress. If it were to malfunction, the swimming pool would have to cease operations. Hence, immediate attention is imperative to facilitate necessary repairs for the pool’s continuous operation, enabling the community to benefit from swimming activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
