KUCHING:  The Association of Registered Childcare Providers Sarawak (ARCPS) and its main collaborator, National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC), are organising a conference called “Preschool Inclusion: The Way Forward”. The conference takes place from 24 until 26 November, 2017 at the Waterfront Hotel here.

Themed, “Advocate Equality, Embrace Diversity & Promote Inclusion”, the conference will be the first state conference on Preschool Inclusion organised by ARCPS.

The conference aims to draw attention to the significant minority group of young children with special needs, highlight best practices for inclusion of children with special needs in early childcare and education and promote research work on inclusion and behavioral intervention practices among postgraduate students and academicians.

The conference also aims to bring together experts from both abroad and locally on a common platform to discuss best inclusion practices and their associated issues.

The three-day event will feature a keynote address, four plenary sessions, two parallel session for paper presentations and six concurrent workshops.

The association is targeting 400 participants (250 local, 125 national and 25 international) to join the conference and the target groups are early childhood educators/providers, parents, health professionals, psychologists, researchers, lecturers, teachers, students, Ministries of Health from neighbouring countries as well as anyone interested in children with special needs.

Those who register before 31 October can enjoy the early bird price as follows: RM80 each for students, RM80 each for delegates with disabilities, RM150 each for other delegates and RM750 for a group of five delegates.

Meanwhile, for those who register after 31 October, the registration fees are RM160 each for students, RM160 each for delegates with disabilities, RM250 each for other delegates and RM1,000 for a group of five delegates.
