KUCHING: It is confirmed Flora Nugak died of a drug overdose.
Sarawak Head CID SAC Denis Leong confirmed it when they received the chemist report back in the late afternoon.
Since last Saturday, police have been going to entertainment joints to conduct checks on those operating beyond the stipulated hours.
Leong said so far more than seven outlet operators had been pulled in and their statement recorded as they are going against the stipulated hours allowed in their permit.
He said police will continue such raids to ensure that drinking hours in entertainment outlets be followed strictly.
Flora, 19, from Rumah Nawek Long Tuyut Tinjar, Baram in Miri was found lifeless lying on the sofa in a pub at 2.50pm on July 3 in Ban Hock road.
The night before, she went out with three female friends and two male friends to a pub and was only found dead the next afternoon.
Two post-mortems were conducted on her. Yesterday at 12.55pm, her remains were brought back to Baram for burial. Her parents were there to collect her remains.
