LAWAS: This district will host the final stop of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) Kembara Kasih 2024 programme on Sept 21, marking the end of an eight-day journey in Sarawak.

According to a media statement, the KPWKM Kembara Kasih 2024 led by the Minister of KPWKM, Datuk Seri Nancy Syukri will journey through Kuching, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu, Sibuti, Beluru, Limbang, and Lawas.

The KPWKM’s secretary of Management Services Division, Mohd Hanafee A Rahman said that the programme’s main objective is to connect with the local communities through services provided by the ministry’s departments and agencies.

“It aims to disseminate and promote KPWKM’s policies and initiatives to benefit the public while raising awareness of the ministry’s role in enhancing well-being and fostering social inclusion, he added after chairing a meeting about the programme.

During the programme, various agencies will set up booths, KPWKM service counters will be open besides the holding of a Rahmah Sale, cultural performances, appearances by popular local artistes and a lucky draw with a motorcycle as the grand prize.

Lawas, the programme’s final stop, will also kick off the National Family Month celebration, which is expected to be officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, at the Public Park here.
