KUCHING: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumers’ Affairs Sarawak will be organising a consumer awareness campaign this month.

“The campaign is in conjunction with the World Consumers’ Rights’ Day which falls on March 15 every year. The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Fair Digital Finance’ which means fairness in the digital money,” said its state director Datuk Stanley Tan in a statement.

He added that a Borneo Zone consumers’ exploration competition will be held between Sarawak, Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan.

“Three top winners will represent the Borneo Zone to the national level competition on March 26 in Kuala Lumpur. The competition will be held at the Plaza Merdeka and 18 participants will compete,” he said.

Stanley added that the competition is aimed at testing the knowledge and potential of the participants in consumerism aspects and teamwork in problem solving.

Stanley disclosed that three winners who have booked their place at the national-level competition are the HAFSRA team represented by students of the Batu Lintang Teachers’ College, the CHAIRWOMEN from Bank Negara Malaysia, Sarawak branch and EMAS JAPEN from the Information Department.
