KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism Malaysia is organising the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Travel Wish Lists 2021 Contest from March 17 to April 2 in an effort to boost domestic tourism.
Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said those who want to participate can send interesting tourism pictures along with a short story of their dream holiday destination to the social media platforms of Backpackerz and Tourism Malaysia.
“I call on the public to seize this opportunity to highlight the uniqueness and beauty of interesting places in the country that we wish to visit when interstate travel is allowed again,” she said when launching the contest virtually through the Zoom application here today.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by her ministry, she said the contest is being organised to support the National Tourism Policy (DPN) 2020-2030 as it can help publicise domestic tourism products on social media, thus increasing demand for tourism and culture industry players.
Organised in collaboration with digital travel magazine, Backpackerz, the main prize of the contest which is open to Malaysians aged 18 and above, is a travel grant worth RM4,000 as well as an Apple iPhone 12 smartphone.
The runner-up will take home RM3,000 cash along with a Sony Playstation 5 video game console while the third-place winner will receive RM1,500 with Apple Airpods. The other top five entries will receive a consolation prize of RM300 each.
The top three winners of the competition will have the opportunity to use the travel grants to holiday in the country as well as write their holiday experiences on Tourism Malaysia’s Facebook and Backpackerz within three months after interstate travel is allowed again.
