KUCHING: As the Covid-19 vaccination does not make a person completely immune from the virus, the general public must continue to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs), said Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (Medac) Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

“The Covid-19 vaccination strengthens one’s immune system from the virus. When infected, the person who has been vaccinated will be able to fight off the virus.

“A person can still get infected after getting vaccinated so it is better to continue wearing face masks, practice social distancing, and follow the SOPs,”

Wan Junaidi was commenting on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s remarks that the enforcement on usage of face masks will continue to remain in place until Covid-19 is fully dealt with.

“Our chief minister is well informed about Covid-19 and the SOPs. Therefore, the people should get their vaccination and comply with the SOPs,” he said.
