KAPIT: State Assemblyman for N63 Bukit Goram, Jefferson JamitUnyat, has reminded all contractors who have been awarded jobs under the Rural Transformation Projects(RTP) and Minor Rural Projects (MRP) to carry out their tasks in accordance with the specifications as per listed.

“I appealed to all RTP and MRP contractors who had been awarded projects to do the job properly in accordance with the specifications as per listed.

“I allocated the projects based on the pressing need of the grassroots. They write in to request for projects and I select based on the pressing need. There is no compromise, the contractor must do and complete the project according to specifications.

“It is very important that the projects are implemented properly so that the customers/community are happy and truly benefited from the government funding,” he said while inspecting a project to improve the drainage system in front of the Foochow Multi-purpose Hall at Km 3,Jalan Selirik last  Sunday morning.

“In this light, I also urged the implementing agency to supervise the project strictly adhering to the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).

“As an elected representative of the people, I have a responsibility to make sure that projects are implemented properly.

“These projects are the ‘touching points’ that the GabunganParti Sarawak (GPS) allocated funds for because its cares for the people. It is hoped that the development projects could improve the basic infrastructure on the ground,” he said.

“Why do I spend a lot of my time in my Bukit Goram constituency? This is because I care for my constituents. I visit them from time to time to receive feedback and explain to them the roles of the government and its various policies. I am trying my very best to serve them. I have proposed various projects for Kapit and in two years’ time this town will have a facelift. For example, the existing ageing water pipes will be replaced including the storage tank and treatment plant. There will be a multi-storey carpark, landscaping of the waterfront, and redevelopment of Lily Pond (PanggauDanau) including the town square,”he said.
