Contractors urged to comply with project specifications

TATAU: Contractors involved in the implementation of the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects in the Kakus state constituency are reminded to comply with the project specifications and the stipulated periods.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk John Sikie Tayai said the contractors involved needs to implement the projects entrusted to them with honesty for the benefit of the people in the long run.

He added the relevant parties also needed to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set as the country was still facing the threat of Covid-19.

He said this while reviewing the progress of the implementation of seven Kakus RTP projects under the administration of the Selangau District today (March 10).

Among the RTP projects he visited were the site leveling works at Rumah Sawan, Sungai Bawang as well as Rumah Dicka and Rumah Jentang, Sungai Anak Selangau.

He also inspected road upgrading works at Rumah Dom Brok, Sungai Tau; Rumah Lunin, Sungai Bawang; Rumah Bigat, Ulu Arip; and Rumah Charlie Adoh, Ulu Nunok.

“Of the seven RTP projects, four projects have been completed while three more projects are still in the implementation stage involving projects to level the new longhouse sites of Rumah Dicka and Rumah Jentang in Sungai Anak as well as the road upgrading project of Rumah Charlie Adoh,” he said.

Selangau District administrative officer Anyie Awing and Sibu Division Public Works Department representative Safual Kamil were also present.
