KUCHING:The Sesa Mini Esports Hub at D-Virtual Park in Kota Samarahan can contribute towards the development of the e-sports industry in Sarawak.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said that the e-sports arena, which spans an area of 7,000 square feet, was the initiative of the Sarawak Esports Association (Sesa) along with the private sector.
“It is equipped with 60 gaming computers, six live streaming rooms, two gaming console corners, a discussion room, and a space for managing open events,” he said during his ministry’s winding-up speech in Parliament yesterday.
He said that aside from the development of facilities, the Ministry of Youth and Sports also actively carried out activities and programmes involving e-sports.
“These are such as My Esports PUBG which was held from July 18 to 26 and My Esports PES20 at the Sarawak state level from Aug 1 to 9, using the production studio equipment at the Sesa Mini Esports Hub,” he said.
