“We shared a lot, from the Puteri Santubong musical theatre up until the production of the Cinta Abadi song and the music video,” she said, pointing out that Indrawani is a very cool, fun and supportive person to work with.

She added that despite his busy schedule, he was willing to collaborate on the song.

“I am very thankful for him, for he wants to contribute his voice despite him not singing for a very long time,” she said during a press conference after the launching of the music video at Borneo Cultures Museum here on Tuesday (Feb 14).

In the meantime, she is open to any possibilities of making a film about the life of Puteri Sejinjang.

“Why not, right? Our production company is ready, and if the allocation from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts of Sarawak (MTCP) is ready for us, then let’s go,” she said.

On another note Dewi said the song plays some of the traditional Bidayuh instruments such as the gong.

“Because I am half Bidayuh, and we have not heard any local song that has a traditional instrument in it, I wanted to incorporate it, to symbolise that this is my roots and where I came from,” she said.

She hoped that this will encourage creative people in Sarawak to do more for the community in the state, and at the same time, not forget where they come from whenever they have achieved success.

Also present during the ceremony was Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts of Sarawak, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Deputy Minister of MTCP, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Development of Sarawak, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, Deputy State Secretary, Datuk Hii Chang Kee, permanent secretary of MTCP, Datuk Sherrina Hussaini, chairman of Kota Samarahan Municipal Council, Datuk Peter Minos alongside other guests.
