PADAWAN: Four men suspected of being online gambling agents were arrested at separate locations during a police operation codenamed ‘Ops Dadu Khas’.
The operation was carried out by the district police task force from 12pm to 3.30pm on Thursday (Sept 30).
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the team raided four eateries at Jalan Matang, Jalan Batu Kitang, Jalan Penrissen and around Kota Sentosa.
“Two locals and two Indonesians were arrested as they were believed to be involved in online gambling activities.
“Four phones, cash amounting to RM740 and two pieces of paper containing numbers, were also seized from the suspects,” he said.
All the arrestees were taken to the local police station for further actions.
Aidil said the suspects will be remanded to facilitate their investigations under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953.
The foreigners will also be investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
