BAU: The local police chief DSP Poge Nyaon is happy with the proactive attitude of operators of eateries and members of the public here.

“Our observation is that operators only provide take-away services to their customers and they observe the no-dine-in directive,” he said Thursday.

Poge said his men will continue to monitor trade activities in town for the duration of the movement control measure as announced by the government.

“As of now, we will continue to advise the public to stay home and only go out when necessary, like getting food supplies and dealing with matters of urgency.

“Those who violate the order will be charged under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 1988 and the Police Act 1967, which means they could be arrested and fined up to RM1,000 and serve jail term of up to two months,” he said.
