PADAWAN: Police are searching for a man who allegedly threatened and assaulted another man at MJC, Batu Kawa last Saturday.

The incident went viral after two video clips were uploaded on Facebook.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed that a report was lodged by the victim around 4.55pm on the day of the incident.

“An investigation paper has been opened under Section 506/323 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.

“Members of the public with information regarding the incident, are urged to contact the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) chief ASP Sylvarius Gopog at 013-8637241 to assist with investigation,” he said in a statement.

In the first video, lasting about 28 seconds, the suspect is seen threatening the victim and applying a right arm lock before pushing him.

The second clip, about five seconds long, shows the suspect striking the victim in the face while he was on the floor.

It is understood that the incident stemmed from a dispute over renovation work at one of the shops.

The victim was reported to have sustained injuries to his left eye, both arms, left leg and right shoulder.
