Cops hunting for suspects in clinic break-in

PADAWAN: Police are currently on the hunt for individuals who allegedly broke into the Mile 10 maternal and child health clinic and stole various items on Monday night.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, when contacted, confirmed that they received a report of the incident at 10.39am, Tuesday (June 18).

The head nurse discovered the break-in around 7.30am, finding various items and appliances in disarray and the window grill at the back of the clinic had been pried open.

“Stolen items include two gas stoves, a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder, a standing fan, a money box with RM50, two steel water jugs, three speakers, a microphone, a radio, a water heater, and an electric rice cooker.

“Additionally, the ultrasound machine and a safe box containing revenue money were damaged. The total losses are estimated to be around RM3,500,” he said.

Supt Mohd Irwan added that efforts are underway to identify, locate and arrest the suspects involved in this crime.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for breaking into a clinic to commit burglary.
