Cops investigating teen bullying case in Spaoh following viral video

BETONG: Police are currently investigating a bullying case involving a group of teenagers in Spaoh after a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.

The viral video has since been taken down from TikTok and Facebook.

The 2.04-minute video clip depicts a teenage boy being slapped on the face and head several times by another boy.

Aside from that, several other teenagers were also seen with their phones recording the incident.

Betong police chief DSP Zamry Alli confirmed that the victim had filed a police report pertaining to the incident on Monday (June 24).

“It is confirmed that the bullying incident took place in Spaoh.

“We have opened an investigation paper under Section 323/506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities and network service,” he said.

However, at the time of writing, no arrests have been made.

In light of this, DSP Zamry urged the public not to speculate on the incident as the case is still under investigation.
