KAPIT: Police are seeking the family members and next of kin of an unidentified man found dead at the new Kapit market wharf last week.
According to Kapit police chief DSP Rohana Nanu, the victim was found unconscious by members of the public around 6.35 am on Wednesday (Apr 24).
“He was found without any identification papers on him.
“However, he was known by the nickname of Awi and has since been confirmed dead,” she said in a statement.
Rohana said police have opened an investigation into the sudden death.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the victim, particularly immediate family and relatives, to reach out to the Kapit police station chief SI Steward Albert at 013-7595095 for further inquiries.
