BINTULU: Police have arrested 13 locals to facilitate investigations into the case of intimidation, mischief and riot at an entertainment centre in the commercial area of Parkcity here last week.
Bintulu police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit said the arrests were made after police detected a 3.19-minute video of the incident that had gone viral on social media last Sunday (July 2).
The suspects, aged between 15 and 39, were picked up to assist in investigations.
He said police are also tracking down other individuals involved in the incident.
“If anyone has information, they can contact investigating officer Insp Christina Edris at 014-3574148 or the Bintulu police operations room at 086-318304.
“As of now, the cause of the incident is unknown as investigations are ongoing,” he said.
Batholomew said the case is being investigated under Section 506, Section 147 and Section 427 of the Penal Code.
The public has been advised not to speculate or spread false news on the incident.
