SIBU: Sadness and gloomy atmosphere surrounded the compound of the Sibu Airport Cargo Complex (LTS) with the presence of family members, relatives and friends while waiting for the remains of the late Lance Corporal Valentino anak Mesa on Thursday night.
His remains safely arrived at LTS around 9.35pm on Malaysia Airlines flight and given full honours during a special ceremony of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) led by Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner DCP Dato ‘Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim.
Also present were Sibu District Police chief ACP Saiful Bahri Abdullah, Head of Management Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters Supt James Jonathan, Kanowit District Police chief, DSP Daniel Desmond Benjamin, Julau District Police chief, DSP Bidol Noyeng and others.
The late Lance Corporal Valentino was taken home to his home in Julau and is expected to be buried at Iban Cemetery, nearby Rumah Maing, Lubok Besai Entabai, Julau tomorrow (Sunday).
DCP Dato ‘Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi and all police personnel, especially those from Sarawak Contingent, expressed sadness and condolences to the family of the deceased.
They conveyed their sadness and heartful condolences to the father of the deceased. Some contributions were also handed over to the father.
Valention was found dead at the USJ Subang Jaya Police Station in early morning on Thursday (31/8/2017) believed to be shot from close range.
The incident was realised by members of the MPV Patrol Unit who returned to the station after patrolling at 3.25am.
