Coronavirus claims another four lives on Thursday

KUCHING: Covid-19 has claimed another four lives on Thursday (July 8), taking Sarawak’s death toll to 428.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said three deaths were recorded in Miri while the other was in Sibu.

The 425th fatality was a 63-year-old man from Miri District. He tested positive for Covid-19 on July 1 and he had no comorbidities.

A 79-year-old woman from Miri District was the 426th victim. She was positive for Covid-19 on July 4 and she had high blood pressure, dyslipidaemia and cancer.

“The 427th death was a 71-year-old woman from Miri District. She tested positive on June 28 and  had high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidaemia.

The 428th death was a 59-year-old man from Sibu District. He was positive on June 28 and had high blood, diabetes and asthma.

Meanwhile, Matu District has turned to yellow status after recording 18 cases in the past 14 days.

Currently, 23 districts are red; three, orange; 13, yellow with only one still in the green zone.
