SIBU: The funeral of Cpl Petrus Linggi Liman, who was fatally shot in a forested area near Mile 5, Jalan Balak Multiplus in Song, will be held this Friday (Sept 27).

This was shared by the Ninth Infantry Brigade via its Facebook page.

On Monday (Sept 23), its Commander Brig-Gen Ahmad Norzaini Badrun paid a visit to Petrus’ family at the Armed Forces Family Housing (RKAT) in Camp Oya, Mile 14 here.

“During the visit, Ahmad extends his condolences and offered some financial assistance to the deceased’s wife.

“The remains of the deceased will be transported to Rumah Janting, Lemujan in Pakan, with the funeral expected to be held on Sept 27,” the division said.

The 29-year-old, who served with the Third Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment (3RRD), had succumbed to injuries from the gunshot wound at Kapit Hospital on Monday.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata confirmed that Song police received a report regarding the incident at 5.57am.

Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the suspect. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
