MIRI: A 25-year-old military corporal has been nabbed by the Miri Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) team on Christmas day.
The team also seized what was believed to be syabu, weighing 0.52grammes and worth RM100, from the army personnel.
According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the suspect was detained at 10.40am in Centre Point area.
“The drugs were discovered underneath the seat of his motorcycle,” said Lim.
The suspect tried to escape when he noticed the NCID team approaching, but his attempts were foiled by the team’s swift action.
The suspect also tested positive for syabu.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
