SIBU: The Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) will continue to monitor the cleanliness of the Sibu Jaya Market and strive to improve its facilities.

Deputy chairman of SRDC, Wong Ching Yong, said that the council is committed to maintaining close communication and cooperation with the public and vendors to collectively promote the development of the area.

“Vendors have expressed satisfaction with the continuous improvements in the environment and services, increasing their confidence in SRDC,” he said in a statement today.

Wong recently visited Sibu Jaya Market to survey the condition of the market and inspect its cleanliness to ensure the health and safety of the public and traders.

During the visit, he personally interacted with the vendors to understand their needs and opinions.

Wong and council members closely monitored the cleanliness and engaged in conversations with vendors while emphasising the importance of maintaining proper drainage systems and cleanliness standards.

Also present were the secretary of SRDC, Ng Siang Wei, and SRDC councillors.
