SIBU: Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Cr Sempurai Petrus Ngelai recently hosted a Gawai Closing ceremony at his longhouse, Rh. Bunsie Ak Tibon, Sungai Belalang, Salim.

The event, described by Sempurai as the concluding episode of Gawai Dayak celebration, drew the attendance of fellow councillors.

“While it marks the close of Gawai festivities, it’s also a time to strengthen unity – among different races, religions, and backgrounds. And for me, the unity we share within the SRDC council is something I’m particularly proud of,” he said.
