MIRI: The Miri City Council (MCC) recently announced that the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 6.0 application for hawkers and petty traders is now open.
The council stated that the application is available for individuals aged 18 and above starting from June 1 with the closing date on June 30.
The categories of hawkers and petty traders that are eligible to apply are food stall (insider food premise, roadside stall), lockup shop, market, village shop, barber or hair saloon (except for hair stylist or hair beauty) and canteen (individual owner).
“However, online traders or business are not eligible to apply. Applicants are encouraged to apply online via the link (https://community-service.sarawak.gov.my) or by scanning the QR code provided as this is to reduce movement during the movement control order (MCO).
“Moreover, the council has decided to use three locations namely Tamu Muhibbah, Pasar Besar Krokop and Tamu Pujut Corner as the venue for application form distribution and for applicants to submit the completed form. These counters will operate from 9am to 12pm,” MCC said in a statement on Sunday (June 6)
The link and application form can also be accessed or downloaded from the council’s official website, MCC added.
The council pointed out that previous BKSS recipients do not need to submit a new application but they are required to update their application details.
“They must update their application details by using application verification form available at the three locations mentioned above. As for the approval of application, it is still subjected to the council’s decision.
“For BKSS 6.0, all payments will be more through SarawakPay and it is compulsory for every applicant to have their own SarawakPay account,” MCC said.
The council also said the payment will be made in two phases this year in July (RM750) and December (RM750).
