SIMANGGANG: Teenagers can now ask specific questions to counsellors, doctors or religious practitioners on any issue without having to feel embarrassed.
To do this, they simply need to download the ‘KafeTEEN’ app that is available through the Google Play Store (Android users) and App Store (Apple users).
“The app, developed by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), is aimed at helping teenagers to get reproductive health service, counselling as well as other educational activities.
“It contains some interesting content such as online games, Teen Chat (enabling teens ― ages 13 to 24 ― asking questions directly to counsellors, doctors or religious practitioners), Teen Buzz (discussing current topics with Teen Educator and other users) and others.
“All this one-to-one discussion information will not be disclosed to safeguard the privacy of teens.
“To date, it has benefited 6,132 users since its launch in November 2018,” said the Sri Aman KafeTEEN Centre in a statement on Tuesday.
Sri Aman KafeTEEN Centre is a one-stop centre for teens to get reproductive health service and is the only such centre in Sarawak.
