MIRI: An Indonesian husband and wife was charged yesterday (Tuesday) at the Magistrate Court here with the killing of their fellow countryman last month.
The charge was read out by senior assistant registrar Eleanor Mako Timothy to Madali Basri, 44, and his wife, Asmira Kadir, 38.
No plea was taken from the couple.
They were charged with killing 30-year-old Mohd Kasya Bamnang at a fertilizer store in Sungai Liam Bakong on May 6 around 5.30pm.
The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same code, provides for the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
