LUNDU: A couple died when their motorcycle collided with a car at Jalan Bokah here on Wednesday (Mar 31).
The two victims were heading to Lundu from Kampung Raso at around 1.15pm before the accident happened.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said they were identified as Diser Migon, 59, and his wife Biti Mindot, 49.
“During the incident, a car from Kampung Bokah from Lundu swerved into the opposite lane and collided with the victim’s motorcycle.
“As a result, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Apr 1).
He added the victims’ bodies were sent to the Lundu Hospital Forensic Unit for further action.
“The driver and two other passengers of the car were reported to have suffered only minor injuries. They sought treatment at the Stungkor Health Clinic,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
