KUCHING: A couple was arrested by police yesterday morning for defying the movement control order (MCO).
According to Padawan District police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, the couple aged 32 and 34 years were arrested around 2.10am.
“The suspects were found by police in a parked vehicle in front of Restaurant 17teen in Siburan.
“Without reasons to be out in public areas during the MCO period, the couple was brought to Siburan police station for compounding process,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Aidil noted that they can be charged for offences under Regulation 3 (1) and Regulation 11 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Area) (No 2) 2020.
