MIRI: The police detained a husband and wife on suspicion of possessing a homemade firearm.
Bintulu District Police chief, Supt Zailanni Amit said the suspects, aged 22 and 20, were picked up in their flat unit at Jalan Bintulu-Tatau in Bintulu at 6.30pm on Tuesday following a public tip-off.
“In addition to the shot-gun, police also seized a 12-inch knife which was placed under a mattress in the master bedroom,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday night.
Zailanni said the suspects were being detained at the Bintulu District Police Headquarters to facilitate investigation.
