KOTA SAMARAHAN: All Ketua Masyarakat and Ketua Kaum (KMKK) are called to ensure the committee members are more proactive in planning development in their respective areas.

In saying this, Samarahan District Officer Anuar Da’an said that the KMKK Empowerment and Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Management Procedures course aims to provide the latest information to all KMKK about the role and managerial procedures of their respective JKKK.

He added that a total of 126 participants involving the respective chairpersons and secretaries attended the course.

“In addition to this course, it also touches on meeting management methods and proper reporting

“This course is very important to all KMKK and more so to JKKK chairpersons and secretaries,” he said at the KMKK Empowerment and JKKK Management Procedures course at Kota Samarahan Civic Centre, yesterday (Aug 11).

Anuar also called for the need to establish JKKK roles in the residential areas as there are currently more than 100 residential areas in Samarahan.

“This is important to monitor and facilitate the administration of the area.

“In addition to that, we also request that Samarahan be given a larger quota for KMKK due to its high population. Even more so now Samarahan is only 25km away from Kuching,” he added.

State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Deputy Speaker cum Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang was present to officiate at the event.
