KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call from the organising committee of the Sarawak Regatta-Kuching Waterfront Festival 2019 at his residence in Demak Jaya here.
Leading the visiting delegation was Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
The visit was to invite Taib to officiate at the closing of the Sarawak Regatta-Kuching Waterfront Festival 2019 at the Kuching Waterfront on Nov 3.
The regatta, which starts on Oct 26, is scheduled to be launched by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Various fringe activities proposed for the festival include a Sarawak Malay Gendang Festival, a Craft Festival, a Food and Entrepreneurship Festival and a Regatta Entertainment Festival.
Also present during the courtesy visit were International Trade and Industry, Terminal Industry and Entrepreneurship Assistant Minister Datuk Naroden Majais and Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.
