KUCHING: A 28-year-old man who was thought to be drunk has been arrested by police for having assaulted his cousin with a vegetable knife at their house at Kampung Pulo Hulu in Petra Jaya at 10.30pm last Tuesday.
Police recovered a knife from the suspect who surrendered to them when they arrived at the house and identified themselves.
Prior to that, the 21-year-old victim lodged a police report that he was assaulted and had injuries on his shoulder and face after defending himself when the suspect tried to stab him.
The victim said his cousin got angry when he and their grandfather disallowed him from using a motorcycle to go out as he appeared to be drunk.
He said the suspect got riled up, went to the kitchen to get a knife and tried to attack him.
The victim said in defending himself he suffered a cut behind a shoulder and his nose bled.
