KUCHING: The COVID-19 positive cases in Sarawak fell to 189 cases today compared to the previous day’s 286 cases.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said 185 of the total number of cases comprised Categories 1 and 2 while four were of Categories 3 and 5.
Kuching accounted for the highest number of cases at 61 followed by Sibu (26), Miri (23), Bintulu (19), Serian (six), Kabong and Tebedu (five each).
Four cases were each reported in Samarahan and Bau and three each in Dalat, Sarikei, Kapit as well as Beluru.
Lubok Antu, Betong, Asajaya, Mukah, Simunjan, Lawas, Pusa, Daro and Sri Aman each recorded two cases while one case each were reported in Julau, Marudi, Lundu, Tatau, Kanowit and Subis.
This brings the cumulative COVID-19 cases in Sarawak thus far to 303,650 cases.
Meanwhile, the SDMC also announced one fatality involving a 77-year-old woman from Miri.
According to the statement, the victim passed away at Miri Hospital and was said to have a history of high blood pressure and diabetes.
Meanwhile, the Jalan Taiton, Bau cluster has also ended today.
