KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 916 COVID-19 cases during the 48th epidemiology (epid) week, a slight decrease compared to 1,046 cases during the 47th epid week.
Of the 916 cases, 884 were in categories one and two, while 32 cases were in categories three, four, and five.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its weekly update said two fatal cases were recorded in Sibu.
In the 48th epid week, Kuching recorded the highest number at 276 cases, followed by Sibu (119), Miri (123), Bintulu (104), Sarikei (43), Samarahan (41), Serian (33), Betong (17), Bau (14) and Mukah (13).
Ten cases each were recorded in Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, and Tebedu; eight in Meradong; seven in Simunjan; six each in Dalat, and Pakan; five each in Lawas and Asajaya; four each in Julau, Tatau, Beluru, Kanowit and Lundu; and three each in Pusa, Marudi, Saratok.
Meanwhile, two cases each were reported in Selangau, Telang Usan, and Bukit Mabong; and one each in Limbang, Daro, Kabong, Song, Sebauh, Tanjung Manis and Matu.
