MIRI: Excessive rainfall since Saturday damaged the ceiling, wall and floor of a house in Sibuti, forcing a family of 14, including six children, to vacate the premises.

According to the house owner, Roymond Kenchendai Agan, 64, he noticed cracks in the ground outside his house at 2am on Sunday.

“I immediately told my family about them as I was worried for their safety,” he said when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune on Sunday.

Currently, Roymond and his family are staying with one of his sons in Lambir Jaya.

Firefighters from Batu Niah were despatched to the scene after receiving a report on the incident.
