LUNDU: A local man died while two others were injured after the car they were in, skidded off the road and crashed into a ditch along Jalan Stunggang Ulu today.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the accident happened at around 11.20 am and firemen from Lundu station were despatched to the scene, some 16km away.
On arrival, the victims had already been extricated from the Perodua Myvi by passers-by.
One of them, a 26-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and his body was handed over to the police to be taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the other two victims in their 20s, were taken to Lundu Hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
After ensuring that the situation was safe, the team concluded the operation and departed back to their station.
