KUCHING: A driver was killed after he lost control of his car and crashed into a guardrail near Kampung Tambak Lama, Jalan Demak here around 8.30 pm last night.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim, 40-year-old Mashisham Amat, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Ministry of Health team.

The accident also left two male passengers injured, one a 34-year-old. The identity and age of the other victim couldn’t be determined as he did not have any identification documents on him.

Teams from the Petra Jaya fire station extricated the two injured victims from the wreck and sent them to Sarawak General Hospital in ambulances provided by the Red Crescent Society and Fire and Rescue Department’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.
